Position: FINANCE MANAGER
Supervised by: Finance Director

Salary: $5,751/month

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the general supervision of CAPECO’s Finance Director, the Finance Manager oversees staff in the Finance Department and serves as the staff’s main contact on a daily basis. This position is also responsible for developing and analyzing the company's financial reports, annual budget, and other applicable grant accounting functions of CAPECO in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and other Federal or State regulatory guidelines for Non-Profits. The Finance Manager works in tandem with the Finance Director on many tasks and is also expected to act in the Finance Director’s role in their absence to keep the department functioning.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples do not include all the duties which the employee may be expected to perform. This is an exempt position, which can result in working more than 40 hours in a work week on an as-needed basis. • Act as the department contact with vendors and other departments.
• Provide support, guidance, and training to finance staff to ensure departmental tasks are completed on time and within compliance of the fiscal policies and procedures.
• Perform continual analysis of grant funds and contracts to ensure proper compliance of funding usage.
• Perform month-end closing, including account analysis and adjusting journal entries.
• Assist with analysis and development of the agency’s annual budget in collaboration with the Leadership T Team.
• Assist with periodic fiscal monitoring and internal audits.
• Perform timely billing and accounts receivable activities.
• Reconciliation tasks as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting. May be substituted for four years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards.
• Knowledge of cost and financial accounting principles and practices.
• Knowledge of internal control systems and procedures.
• Skills in performing complex numerical calculations.
• Knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office, Word) and related financial software products.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Effective oral and written communications skills.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• A willingness to expand skill sets as needs develop.
• Management experience not required, but highly preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift, and/or carry/move objects up to 25 pounds.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, smart phones, photocopiers/scanners, shredders and filing cabinets.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must pass a criminal history background investigation; however, a conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify an individual from this position.
• CAPECO is a drug free workplace and pre-employment drug screening will be required.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record is required.
• Travel may be required within the service area. Occasional out of town or overnight travel. Travel may require the use of a personal vehicle. Mileage for the business-related use of a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the standard mileage rate as published per IRS guidelines.
